The business need was dedicated to women’s safety whilst recognizing the need for a comprehensive safety application tailored to the unique security concerns faced by women.
The major challenge being faced was the privacy and data security, user adoption, and emergency response integration. Where the challenge included platform to ensure user privacy and data security while collecting and sharing location and safety information, convincing potential users to adopt the app and participate in the community was even more challenging.
To address the challenges, we proposed a fully functional platform, that will have a user friendly interface, and allow personal safety feature SOS and panic button, real-time location sharing, and the ability to send alerts to a user’s trusted contacts in emergencies. The platform had to be user or community driven where the places are rated safe or unsafe based on the user reviews and feedback. Further, the application ensured privacy protection including data encryption and user control over data sharing, to address privacy concerns.
Our tech stack for this project comprised of the following
Social, Navigation, Maps, Safety
The implementation included an application that has user driven safety ratings for not only near by places, but near by streets and areas as well. The platform provided an SOS feature where user can send their last location to their selected contacts and a real time location tracking to be enabled at the contact side. Further to ensure privacy measures, we incorporated data encryption, user consent controls, and stringent data protection policies to address privacy concerns.
The client was delivered with a high quality product that allowed users to report the places as safe/unsafe and feeling more secure with the application, and the panic button and real-time location sharing features were used successfully in multiple emergencies.
